A PASSIONATE PERFORMER

From very young age, I always felt that singing was my world. Infact at a very young age everywhere I used to go, like for example in shops, people used to love listening to me singing while putting me high up on objects to perform. At the age of 3 years, GM Productions organised a baby show where I took part. I was one of the 10 finalists chosen over 300 contestants from Malta and Gozo. During this contest many were impressed with the confidence and singing I showed on stage and everyone realised that the stage was my world. At the end of this show I placed first! This was a starting point and since then I never looked back. I knew this was my destiny and in fact I started contesting in various festivals. By the age of 5, I managed to gain certain experience and even won most of the contests I participated in. Infact I was the youngest singer to perform with a well-known musician and band leader Vinny Vella at the Café Premier and this led me to be a professional singer already by the age of 10. This was all perceived with no singing lessons. It was just out of my will power and passion for music. At the age of 10, my parents decided to take me to Ms. Antoinette Miggiani, a well known singing coach back in the days. Although she didn’t use to accept children, she decided I was the exception and to accept and follow me after listening to me performing. Miggiani was of great inspiration in my life, infact she was the one that taught me through my life how to use my voice and how to teach children music and how to transmit the passion that I hold to my students. This helped me to start and perform in established venues and various hotels like Corinthia Hotel, Verdala Hotel, Selmun Palace & Jerma Hotel. I was always a permanent guest on the show The Powerful Men around Malta presented by Joe Falzon. I also used to take part in different Festivals and concerts. Some Festivals to mention; Aurora Song Festival, Kanarin tad- deheb, Song Festival Zecchino D’Oro, Silver Boat Festival, YTC song Festival, Festival Indipendenza, Ghanja ta Mhabba and many more. I managed to place first in almost all these festivals mentioned and more.  I also recorded and released my first song at this tender age named ‘Ma Tlugh ix-Xemx’. At the Age of 11 I took part in Sanremo named ‘Festival Internazionale Dei Ragazzi e Giovani’ were I placed first. During my career I managed to meet many well known artists like; Amadeo Minghi, Haddaway and Ambra.

During my career I had the opportunity to perform abroad in places like; Melbourne, Sydney, Italy, Corfu, Sardenia and Corsica.  I also performed on different cruise liners. Locally I took part in various Musicals and Operetti like; Rega Sebah, Pawlu 2000, Inez Farrug, L-Gharusa Tal-Mosta, Is-Siegha tal-Bdiewa, L’Aqua Cheta, Cin Cin La’, La Vedova Allegra, Il Paese Dei Campanelli, La Principessa della Czarda, Lo Zingaro Barone and Scugnizza.  I also was part as a actress in TV productions like; Ipokriti, Dizgrazzja Bi Grazzja and St. Mary.

At the moment I fulfil various roles, which include managing Sweet Notes recording studio as a sound engineer, musical arranger, composer, singing tutor, choreographer, actress, music video director, tv producer and not forgetting that I still perform as a professional singer on a regular basis. Some well known local singers I coached are; Olivia and Marvic Lewis, Fabrizio Faniello, Alison and Analise Ellul, Glen Vella, Laurence Grey, Dominic Cini, Jessica Muscat, Kevin Borg, Christabelle Borg, and more. I can proudly say that I have some students currently that are also doing really well and perform on a greater scale both in MALTA and foreign countries. I am also proud to say that I am preparing children to sit for different exams mainly Pop and Rock Trinity. My students are always involved in various professional projects. Some examples are an album recorded with X-Tend, a Tv Programme ‘ Kuluri’, Fonzu il- Fenek songs & even with a new project around Sanremo and la Partita del Cuore.

Some of my personal accomplishments were the piano, were I have Grade 8 in theory of music and Grade 6 in practice with Royal School of Music. On a more personal note I have my biggest 3 accomplishments, my 3 children Isadora, Engelbert and Kyle whom I love so much. They are all well established in the music industry as they all perform their own talents and spread it to the public on a day to day basis.
